As I look out of my window from the 11th floor towards downtown Bangkok the pollution doesn't seem to be as bad as usual. Overcast, rain to the southwest, and humid as always. And, I can see buildings in the distance I didn't even know were there. Having said that, my screen saver is a photo of a Bohol beach with a beautiful girl in a hammock. Need I say more......
I'm on my way tho! Will be there on the 15th Of Aug after a couple of days in Manila to clear the Thai cobwebs. Thailand has worn very thin in my feelings and I don't know that I'll return for some time. I've read many different forums and a common thread seems to be "Thailand vs the Philippines". There are pros and cons to each and I think most of us are familar with them. One thing I have noticed tho is that forums with contributions from expats living in the Philippines seem to be very upbeat for the most part. Reading the Thai Visa forums won't give you that same warm fuzzy feeling. Some of the posts on this forum gave me more than a few giggles and one or two medium belly laughs. If everything else was equal, which may or may not be, just the attitude of expats who wrote and contributed to this forum, and at sometime in the past chose the Philippines is more than enough to tip the scales. No contest.
Let's see... What other things can I do without to keep my bags under 30 kilos? See you soon......

Welcome back .. yeah, ThaiVisa is good for a few laughs, sometimes, actually, a lot of the time quite sad, thankfully DI.com is a lot more upbeat .. It was a GREAT resource, and still is, for me when I moved to Dumaguete with my family.

Lots of GREAt folks hang out here ..

    Enjoy the PI

    Cheers

Jdon welcome to our gentle forum. Look forward to hearing your opinion of the two countries when you settle in. You will find many of us who have experienced both and happily settled here. Good luck.
