It cost more to get fans with bearings instead of bushings but I think it's worth it over the long haul. If I ever decide I'm going to stay in one spot I will buy quality ceiling fans.

I only buy Asahi brand fans here. I have had Asahi fans over five years with no failures in any of the three floor fans I have. I do not know if they have bearings or not but they have never needed servicing. "General American" brand or something like that lasted less than a year.

I have a ceiling livingroom fan that I keep going 24/7. It's ligtly cooling when sitting directly underneath but it doesn't bring air from outside (which I want in my area near the sea). Ideally, a fan will bring in a breeze from lower down, directed across the room to an outlet higher up. (Hot air rises, right?) I redirect my floor fan to point out the window when I smell trash burning coming in.

I had an American Standard (which wasn't by any stretch of the imagination) and a Hanabishi. I would buy Hanabishi again.
