Too right PatO.....I've been as close to the edge as you can get and came back. I'm sure the surgeons are still pissed off at how long it took them working all night. I am amazed...and have done the whole near death experience....Floating in the ambulance....I could see the whole thing, paramedics, me, everything in reasonable clarity. I knew exactly where we were just by the bumps in the freeway as we approached downtown Perth. It all went black about 1km out from RPH....I was thinking it was all over now...never mind - light out, hatches closed - that's the way it is.....Then woke up briefly sort of - almost two days later - with about 10% of normal vision range...It was like looking down a pipe to see the world. That improved over the next few days and doing ok now....It was an adventure though....
You got it. No pain. Lights out. The world will be just fine without us....or maybe not. But it won't matter to us. Definitely gone.

I don't fear death for me. I know the pain stops when you pass. I fear my death for my wife and son.
