I heard a foreigner hit a pedicab in the rear with 11 passengers in Bacong yesterday. I was told two passengers are in the ICU and require surgery including the mother of the front desk worker at my gym.
Bamboo grapewine says the foreigner agreed to pay all expenses to avoid going to court.
    Any updates?

11 passengers in a trike (driving on a national highway?). Gross negligence by the trike operator.

Expats should be able to drive responsibly, afterall we have actually been taught to drive. So often I see expats driving like lunatics. Now that the South Hiway has been / is ongoing widening I foresee more "accidents". Speed differential, and no lane discipline etc etc. Feel sorry for the tricycle passengers just going about there business. Last time I took tricycle from city to Dauin I asked why he doesn't use the new RH lane...he replied that the concrete would wear his tyres out!!

The expat mentioned here is a pretty nice guy (it is even in his last name). I can't see him purposely putting anyone's life in danger. I suspect that it was either that the trike driver made a stupid/dangerous/unsignaled move or it was truly an accident on the expat's part.

I do understand your point though, some of the absolute worst and most dangerous drivers I have ran across in the Philippines were expats.
