I completely agree......but I also have no trouble believing that someone (expat or Filipino) would lie about being a victim in a hit and run.....and given the method of which this was posted I have some doubts to its authenticity. My concerns with the story:

If the only witnesses that back up the driver's story was a passenger or close relatives/friends (that, luckily enough, just happened to be in the area :meh:) then I'd have a hard time believing that story....especially since the pictures of the accused multi-cab were taken during the day, making many witnesses very likely. I also believe that if these other witnesses actually existed (and especially if a foreigner was involved) there would a lot more than just a picture of the back of a, seemingly undamaged, multi-cab. Pictures of the damage done to the "victims" vehicle and any injuries would be posted all over FB to further back up the story. I also suspect that had any bystanders on a vehicle saw a foreigner in a hit-n-run they would have given pursuit......and a multi-cab would have a hell of a time outrunning even a Honda Wave on open roads.....and that could never happen even with the slightest bit of traffic.

Also, the author of this FB post feels it important to first tell everyone "Please respect my post!".....I have found that, at least in the internet universe, when the author leads off with a few words that tell the reader what should be believed/felt/thought about what's getting ready to be said, well, it's usually a complete load of BS, you should probably go in thinking the exact opposite of what the person told you to feel and you should probably question how the author would benefit from you feeling the way they told you to feel.

    Examples:
    • YouTube ghost videos that start with "this video has not been edited in any way"....even though that little announcement, along with the 20 replays in slow motion and red circle highlighting the "ghost" the person should be looking at had to be edited into the video.
    • YouTube conspiracy theory videos that start with "this is the truth/the official story was a lie/open your mind"
    • Mass/spam emails informing people of some unknown history/story starting with "this is the god's honest truth/I wouldn't make this up"
    • Every single article/video that Alex Jones (aka Info Wars) has ever published.
Being in the Philippines I have came to the understanding that "respect what I'm going to tell you" actually means "do not question anything I'm about to tell you"......and any story I'm not allowed to question I automatically write off as complete BS.

I also find it suspicious that the person that posted this did not post any pictures of the damage to their car or of any injuries they sustained from the alleged long-nose accident. If you want sympathy from people you should probably show them why they should feel sorry for you. I see no damage done to this person or their property, what should I be sympathizing with? (Hell, I can't even fully understand the printed content, I just have to go off of what a third party tells me happened from their translation....which they got from someone else.) I just see a picture of the back of a multi-cab and a "story" about an anonymous long nose meanie-head that did something bad to him/her......and I'm told that I should "respect" this story from the very beginning. Yeah, alright.

    My 2 cents.

I'm not one to stick up for foreigners in this sort of issue.

Last week I was heading from Bacong to Dumaguete and a foreigner driving one of the same type of vehicles that is in this issue pulled into my lane with me right there wanting to pass a few people in front of him almost hitting me and shoving me to the curb. It was broad daylight and there was NO way anyone would have thought there was sufficient room to pass or make it. It was obvious that they simply thought as they were the bigger vehicle the opposing traffic (me) should me the f*ck out of their way.

The next day I was passing a big truck with oncoming traffic but plenty of room for me to make my pass before they arrived. I was already midway on my pass when a foreigner sped past me in a van almost hitting me in his double overtake and then cut in right in front of me.

Plenty of idiot foreigners here who are driving like the locals and sometimes even worse. I just want to see these a$$hats (foreigner and Filipino alike) who nearly kill people daily with their bad driving being put down like rabid animals for the safety of the rest.

Sometimes? Hmm. Seems to me that the idiot foreigners who think they are driving like the locals are actually worse. At least the locals are experienced 'crazy drivers' while the idiot foreigners are only wanna be crazy drivers. They don't quite get the lunacy and it shows in the dents in their vehicles.
