Maybe just a few locals who are into this sort of thing----we usually use Mt. Talinis in a sort of joke as a place that no one wants to visit.
Interesting app! It comes up with some pretty funny word combos though. For example, if a select a location at the front of Robinson's, its designator is "sushi.accent.hotdog" BTW, kudos to Robinson's, that's a pretty impressive array of solar panels on their roof! https://what3words.com/sushi.accent.hotdog?maptype=satellite
there is a hiking club a hundred or so strong with many from Silliman who go up the montain regularly in groups.
"Cuernos de Negros Mountaineers Club". I wonder if they would assist in a search and rescue mission? https://www.facebook.com/cuernosdenegrosmountaineers/
Possibly some sad news, a string of posts on the Valencia Emergency Rescue Unit's Facebook page alludes to a suicide note left behind by the missing man. But the person who supplied that info (gf or ex?) said on her own FB page that he may have been found safe in Bais. Let's hope so!
No fun have your face splattered all over Facebook and news, connected to a suicide note.... especially if it was not true.
From FB site Dumaguete.Net FLASH REPORT | Dead body of a foreign national found at the foot of Mt. Talinis in Sitio Manipis, Valencia, Negros Oriental. The dead body is believed to be that of Wolfgang Frenzen Detlef , 70 , a German national, residing in Brgy. Apolong, Valencia. We was last seen on September 8 after he informed his friends that he is going to Mt. Talinis.
It was in the local news yesterday----a 70-year-old German national was found dead somewhere in Valencia. His body was said to be in a state of decomposition so he must have been dead for some time now. Authorities were supposed to respond to a fire that happened in that area when they discovered the body. Not much was said about the death of the victim. Was there foul play involved? By the way, I only remember his first name which is Wolfgang. The news story ends with a statement that it is still probing the cause of the German's death. I will try to find that story again and come back so I could share the link.
This is more information on the previous thread, but he was not found in his home he was found on Mt Talinis: https://dumagueteinfo.com/board/threads/foreigner-missing-on-mt-talinis.48737/
