In my experience here most of these cases are especially where a foreigner is involved

A foreigner or two seems to be murdered every year for various reasons (I believe most of these still remain unsolved). Most of these murders seem to occur in the foreigners' home that are in less urban environments or someplace with less visibility, though occasionally such acts will be in an urban area and caught on CCTV, usually bar brawls/disagreements gone wrong (these tend to be spontaneous and unplanned murders where the ones in foreigners homes seems to be premeditated in most instances). But you should remember that, in my estimate, there are around 10,000 foreigners in the area at any given time. Your chances of being murdered are quite low.

There does seem to be some common themes behind most of these murders:
    1. Being a drunk *sshole and starting trouble at bars.
    2. Getting involved with real estate/local finances/business/charities.
    3. Partake in activities that takes money/property/power/influence away from the locals.
    4. Dealing drugs or participating in any other illegal business.
    5. Getting involved with or siding with local politicians/clans.
    6. Flashing your wealth/cash/expensive items around.
    7. Treating locals badly or causing them to lose face publicly.
    8. Spreading damaging chismis (gossip) about local families/clans.
    9. Living in a secluded area. (The less densely populated barangays of Dauin/Zambuanguita/Valencia/Bacong/etc.)
Now, I'm not saying that any one of these things will get you murdered on its own but if you checked off 2 or 3 of those things you might want to consider changing your behavior/lifestyle...or, if you aren't going to change, beefing up your personal security.

And never let that silly "City of Gentle People" motto fool you. They can be just as brutal as people from any other area in the Philippines/Asia.

Who is "she"? You know who planned it out? Don't point the finger at someone you don't know is guilty, especially the grieving wife. If you have some evidence that points to someone go to the police with it.

Come on now, almost all premeditated murders are an "inside job". The majority of murders are done by someone the victim knew...since the vast majority of humans need some type motive to commit such a heinous act against another human. Saying we think he was murdered by someone he knew is about astute of an observation as me saying, "most bananas are yellow."

Even if that is true; Correlation does not imply causation. You are jumping to a conclusion. Being guilty of an affair, which is hearsay and completely unproven, does not immediately mean someone is guilty of the murder of their spouse, they are vastly different levels of immorality. While it could be seen as suspicious and a possible motive, there are likely other suspects with different motives that could also be under investigation.

Let the investigators do their job before you go pointing fingers at people. You will not continue to point the finger at the wife as if she is guilty on this forum, just as nobody here will be allowed to point a finger at any other individual without proof. If, through a police investigation and court proceeding, we find out that your assumption turned out to be the reality of the situation then we can discuss it at that time. Until then, knock it off.

Also, this type of speculative accusation/chismis is not only immoral, it can be a criminal offense in the Philippines. Is it worth potentially going to prison for 2 years if you are wrong? You aren't even using the forum with any type of anonymity, you have your face in your profile picture. You should probably be a bit more careful and paint your picture with a much broader brush when posting chismis.
