Very sad for young girls being taken advantage of for their innocence and lack of " stranger danger " education. Trauma will continue in the lives of the girls lucky enough to have escaped death. Hope their families are understanding and helpful to their needs emotionally. Imprisonment will never be enough punishment for their captors.

HOLY COW!
It was about the human trafficking in Cambodia, and laid out some of the cultural issues behind it, the "CLEAN UP" actions being taken by a charity in one sector of that country, and the police actions (or lack thereof).
WHAT AN EYE-OPENER!
Fathers, uncles, and older male cousins groom the next younger males in the family line to prostitute their young female family members into this. Their moral compass has been taken off-course, partly because of the years of family separation/extermination from the years of forced Kmer Rouge social policies.
Gambling, drinking issues in the family also lend a hand in this. So does abject poverty and hunger.
5 Bucks for a virgin girl under the age of 10. The little girl "First-timers" went to a "special" Pink Room for their initiation from the paying male customer.
Whatever sick, perverted, sadistic thing you can imagine - that's what happens in "The Pink Room" to the "first timers".
A building might have 10 or more tiny little rooms, big enough for a twin bed, with the next room separated from the former only by a low concrete wall. Then the next room, the next room, and the next. But upstairs is the bigger room - The Pink Room.
Sometimes they "graduate" to a karaoke bar, where they are lined up like candy behind the storefront glass, and the guy picks his choice and he can do whatever his mind can imagine to her to do.
And sorry to say, the bulk of the men paying for this were Anglo! (and looked like retirement age guys, too).
Anyway, The Pink Room really tells the story behind some of the whys behind this. The one charity in this documentary is in the trenches, directly dealing with establishing different social options for the families, providing education, food, sports for the young men, basic medical attention, and job skill training. For the young boys and these little girls, it's a shot at trying to break this morally and psychologically bankrupting human cycle of tragic porportions.
Meanwhile, they have their work cut out for them, offering young girls a better way out of this. The girls - and that's what they are - young girls - 8-18 years old - at first many want to leave and get away from this. They are psychologically broken and hollowed out little kids - no self esteem. They also know their family loses income. They have difficulty forming healthy, normal relations with men.
It's awful - just a mess. And it was a shocking documentary for me to watch because of the human toll this takes on the innocent.
But as long as there is a demand for this - the supply pipeline continues - and these "Pink Rooms" flourish with more little girls - and more Fathers, and Brothers and Uncles becoming dependent on the income these little girls bring home.
This charity estimated that there are at least 50,000 little girls at any given time being groomed and trafficked in Cambodia.
I can only hope the RP is more proactive in this regard....

I know this about the "piece of sh*t guy" but as Wrye mentioned sometimes this is family business headed up by the parents. The parents are as responsible for this type of action many times as anyone else. The Parents train the family "bread winner" on ways of the street. We will always face temptation during our lives; it is how we handle those temptations that determine our character. It obvious that there are some countries and communities in Southeast Asia who specialize in temptations, it is our job to decide what type of character we want to have. How hard will it be to look ourselves in the eyes in the mirror tomorrow morning.-
