The following is a free Supply Chain Management (SCM) Seminar for local store owners and managers. SCM is a business system never implemented in most parts of the Philippines. The purpose is to increase profits and customer satisfaction by eliminating "out of stock". SCM can be implemented on a computer (ideally) and even a simple manual system. 1. Don't hire dumb shits to manage your store or inventory 2. Analyze your product history (sales for the last few months) 3. Understand your supply chain - length of time from order to delivery for each product 4. Establish a reorder point - the inventory level based on sales to date and forecast where the remaining count indicates you should order to replenish your stock so the delivery arrives BEFORE you run out of stock 5. Keep a level of safety stock in case of problems or disasters 6. Do not try and get fancy thinking you can use the Just-in-Time or MRP concepts. Too many variables 7. If you are a chain store, send these simple instructions to your parent because you now know more about SCM than they apparently do 8. Don't call me, I'm retired 9. If "out of stock sir" is not eliminated by Oct. 31, see my next seminar on 'How to Interview for a Job' 10. Go back to no. 1
