Bought them last Wednesday on the wet market in Daro.

 

You were very wise. Too many fungi look alike. For example, the death cap (does what it says on the tin!) is almost imperceptible from some edible ones. There are also fungi (ergots) which grow on crops such as rye and wheat and, if eaten, can cause hallucinations, 'tummy upsets', a limb to fall off (dry gangrene) and abortions. I studied fungi, along with other microbes, at Uni but would definitely not pick and eat but a very few, very distinctive, types - and most of them have the texture of slime!

 

Thinking about mushrooms reminds me of my place in the World: I am kept in the dark and occasionally have sh*t thrown at me.
