Gerry's On The Beach

Emailed my wife for full details and in her reply email she said that it was one of the strays, or a customers dog
(as far as she could tell) that snarled at our daughter, as apparently she brushed past it as she got up from the table.

Last time I was at your place Gerry you said to me to tell you if I thought that there was anything that you could improve
on, hence the dog situation, which was only meant as constructive criticism, as not all people like dogs under their feet
while they are eating........... but we will be back as soon as I get back from Australia, you have not lost us.

I appreciate all input (makes for a better venue). That being said I will enclose an area here to keep the dogs in during hours of operation. I would put a dog down before I would tie it up all day, give me a few days to figure it out and all will be fixed.

 

It's good that you were able to clear up your confusion about which dog growled, even if it was after you made your initial post. Better late than never.
You can quote me however you wish. I said "My wife enjoys petting them while we wait for our food."

We regularly go to Gerry's on sundays for lunch, and the pizza is always great, we don't mind th 2 dogs there , they do not try to eat our food or bother us and seem quite friendly, will not stop us eating the yummy pizza there

 

Doggy update... Von (Rottweiler) has a kennel now where she spends her time during hours of operation. She can still see the beach and watch the people as she enjoys this.

Hi Everybody,

Today was our day to visit Gerry's and let me tell you - there are nothing but good things to say about this place.

1) Food - absolutely tasty and delicious YUMMY YUMMY woodfire pizza - haven't tasted anything like these pizzas since Belissimo Pizza in Sydney.
2) Drinks - the beer is COLD as it should be [unless you are one of those crazy brits :-)]. And Jagermeister was on the menu - AND AVAILABLE.
2) Service - can not be faulted in ANY way - beer was empty - the lady was present with "Sir are you ready for a refill" - certainly made it enjoyable.
3) Ladies - are friendly, smile, enjoy themselves, sing to the music, Have been well educated and are certainly a vital part of the atmosphere.
4) I was able to observe glasses being cleaned properly - not just rinsed. HYGIENE - always a BIG plus.
5) Last but not least - Gerry - HE RIDES, he is happy, he smokes, he drinks and has a personality full of laughter and joy.

The place is his PRIDE and he has earned it.

It will not be our last visit.

My 2cents worth.

 

Good to address this, myself not to worried about friendly dogs how ever bearing in mind pizzas should be eaten with fingers prefer them to keep distance. To be honest if eating I do not want dogs brushing up against me no matter how friendly.

Other views, my brother for example hates dogs around if eating, if I was to bring him to Gerries he would refuse to eat or drink there. Maybe they can be separated from dinners.

Hope visit today so can comment further.

 

We enjoyed a vegetarian pizza with Jerry yesterday. Excellent pizza and very good value for money. Shared it and were struggling to finish.

The Lab dog joined us and for us was zero problem, really a cute doggy. Jerry assured me if bringing someone whom has problems with dogs around he would remove same. My brother is the perfect example.

The place is neat, especially sitting right on the beach with a cool breeze eating pizza and enjoying a cold beer shouted by Jerry.

Further although he is kinda busy with constructions he seems to make time for customers. Gave me an excellent contact to have my spiral staircase made, which we are proceeding with. Jerry is a great source of local knowledge for construction.

 

Next Saturday at Gerry's on the Beach is a grand party to celebrate the 4th of July and Canada Day. (July 01) Fire works, fire dancers, chicken, baked beans, pork chops and more!!!

It seems an elevated wire could be run where the sand beach meets the lawn and the dog's leash could be attached-letting the dog get some exercise when it wants by walking itself along the wire, while keeping it away from customers. If nothing else it's just a smart business practice in an area where there's so many places to eat.
