    Hi,
Have a friend here (westerner) leaving in a few days and will leave his scooter behind and will transfer ownership to us.

I am leaving in a few months and will also want to transfer ownership of now 2 scooters to our local friends.

As there is NO SALE PRICE between this transaction how do i go about this?

Eventually we want to give these to our local friends who would put them to good use (for about 150 yrs judging by their current bike age) and want to do it legally (if necessary) and cheaply.

Have seen things on this forum but nothing really clear. Something about a bill of sale or deed of sale or notarised at the judicial house or something.

    Any ideas?

I'm not sure how to go about it but if it were me, I'd just make it show that my friend did bought the scooter and have it legally processed. Not sure if this helps. Though you can contact my cousin in the LTO for advice. PM me if you're interesed.

my dad's friend actually did that... it was like a normal transaction of buying and selling a used motorcycle. There was a deed pf sale prepared; however, the price for the motorcycle being sold was like only 10,000 pesos. Then, it was notarized and transfer of ownership was made through LTO.

In all, it was more or less 4,000 pesos... but that was 3 years ago..

In the Philippines you better prepare a certificate of sale instead of gift (even you put a price of 500 pesos.)
Here you can find a model of "deed of sale":Free Legal Form: Vehicle Deed of Sale.
Afterwarts you just proceed to LTO with:

    1. Original Certificate of Registration (CR) and latest original Official Receipt (OR) of payment

    2. Official Receipt (OR) of tax payment

    3. Original Deed of Sale of the Motor Vehicle

    4. Appropriate Insurance Certificate of Cover

    5. Actual inspection of MV with duly accomplished MVIR (Motor Vehicle Inspection Report)

    6. Confirmation Certificate of tax payment

    7. Confirmation of CR/OR (CIR-91-137) if issued by other LTO Agency

    8. Taxpayer's Identification Number (TIN)

Maebe LTO will ask for more documents (you never know)

And pay for Tranfer taxes and documentary stamps.

    good luck

You said "if necessary". It's not necessary. I've given 2 scooters away and sold 2. Never bothered with any paperwork on my end. Just gave them the keys and all the papers I had. I know that renewing registration / buying insurance doesn't require proof that you're the owner, because I've often hired friends to go through the LTO hassle for me. Probably a number of good reasons not to do things that way, but the official way sounds intolerable to me.
