Can anyone help me choose which is better? My internet connection is powered by globe but lately i can't access the net. Now I'm thinking of transferring to Sky Cable. Does Sky Cable has better Internet connection?

I think the only internet service in the area that could possibly be as bad as Globe would be ITquest, or whatever they are calling themselves this week.

Problems with the internet connection was due to fiber optics problem from Japan's earthquake and Tsunami. I suggest go for PLDT, worth the fees that your paying. So far, I experience no downline with the connection. I subscribe for 1mb, I'm receiving 1.5 to 1.7mb based on speedtest.

Our problems with Globe started LONG before Japan's earthquake. As soon as (IF) PLDT is available, we will be switching.

By calling via (PLDT) landline 171(tollfree) Mondays to Fridays 8:00am to 7:00pm Saturdays & Sundays 8:00am to 5:00pm
When calling via SMART celfone 171 (toll free) or *888
You can also find some agents wearing a PLDT uniform roaming around in the city giving some flyers. They told me they're still new here in Dumaguete, they don't have office yet. If I pay my bills it would be via LBC and that's what I always did. Hold on, let me look up if there's that agent number here in my records , I share it once here to a guy who got a problem with internet connection. Oh here, 09283856203 just try to contact him. I'm not sure if it's still ring. I'm paying 1,100 for my 1MB.

Skycable is reliable but slow. I have the 1mb connection and it rarely goes above 100kbs. Pay P1000 a month for it.

We called the number you gave us, and after a few days Nelson text us that he was near our house.

In the meantime, we found a guy wandering around with a PLDT shirt. This guy told us that Nelson was no longer an agent for PLDT. He also told us that on Saturday the 16th PLDT would have a parade announcing the new opening of their office in Robinson's. He left us with application forms.

When Nelson came to our house, he did not say anything about a parade and new office at Robinson's. When asked when service would be available, he was rather vague and said this month. He left us an older version of a similar form that looked very old and tattered.

So, at this point, we will wait and see if indeed a new office opens at Robinson's this weekend.

    Your mileage may vary

I received a brochure from a PLDT rep walking around Daro -- new services available in Dumaguete, with packages for DSL, phoneline, etc.

Check out this link for details: PLDT myWORLD myDSL
