Just a quick hello to all. My husband and I peek in your nice site from time to time and just enjoy hearing about all kinds of stuff in Dumaguete and elsewhere in the neigboring places. We finally decided to register so we can be more involved with discussions when we get the chance (honestly, very rarely....)

We recently visited Dumaguete for the first time and were really impressed with what we saw. We stayed with our friends while there who generously took us on a short trip to Valencia that made quite an impression on us. We spent a couple hours or so at the Forest Camp and just enjoyed the beautiful garden with exotic flowers and the sound of the bubbling brook and water fall. It was a very relaxing place to be! The cooler temperature definitely was a big plus! The only not so pleasant experience we have had was the really long wait for our meal that we ordered at their restaurant. However, the food didn't taste bad so I guess it made it up a bit for the long wait.

We are looking forward to visit Dumaguete again, and perhaps head further towards Bacolod which we didn't get to do last time.

We hope the same quaint and friendly Dumaguete will be there when we return to visit. I am originally from Bohol currently living outside of the country. Glad we got a chance to visit our neighbor, Dumaguete. You, too, (like Bohol) have a lot to be proud for!

Welcome EZway, welcome to the forum. It's nice of you to stop by and say a quick "hello" to members. I come from Dumaguete and was raised there. Currently, I live in California with my husband who is retired USAF. Some of the places here remind me of my hometown, especially if you're at country side ....lots of tropical flowers, fresh fruits and vegies display on stands on the side of streets in an orchard area. Hope to see more of you.

    Hi EZ and welcome.
I'm north of you in south Seattle not too far from the airport (Angle Lake). My wife is from Malasiqui, Pangasinan and we are planning to retire to the Visayas in about 3 years. We plan to take our time looking for a place with Bohol and the Dumaguete area high on the list.

Looks like we run into neighbors! As much as I want to visit Seattle, we very rarely go there. The last time I've come close was last year while attending a conference in Tacoma.

When my husband retires (and I told him I'll retire with him, LOL) we will spend the winter time in Bohol and stay in the northwest during the nicer months here. Needless to say, I love it here in the northwest and it's nice to be able to live in the best of both worlds.

Great choice to retire in either Bohol or Dumaguete! Thanks for writing.
