Where has Terry of HAPPY FRED'S gone? where do all the expats hang out now from there, people like BAREFOOT JOHN. Does anyone know if those folk are still around?

Happy Freds is under new ownership and is now called Pirate Bay !!! There are numerous theories and a lot of speculation on the whereabouts of Terry, but the most logical and certainly the most believable is that Terry and family are probably back in London. Although it was tolerable before, I'm not particularly keen on the place now, and many of the expats who used it before moved on when Terry left.

You can often find Barefoot John there in the afternoons, but that might become a bit less for a while as he recently became the father of a baby daughter.

Thanks, i heard Terry had got himself in some trouble which does not surprise me as he was a good guy to be around except when he was flying off the handle..
I hope barefoot John puts shoes on his daughter as those feet of his still give me nightmares..

    ?????

Happy Freds is under new management. Terry has long gone and i wouldnt bother asking where he is. Im sure he is still in touch with a couple of people but unless he tells you himself you got no chance of really knowing or finding out. With new management comes changes. The place has had a facelift and new name but with any change of ownership regulars change. As an old regular all i can say is the rest of the regulars have scattered to many different bars, didnt pick one place  For me.... Black Pearl, Eidleweiss, Blue Monkey, Bogarts :D

Thanks, we lived on Siquijor a few years ago and drank in Happy Freds on shopping trips to Dumaguete. Will be heading south to Dumaguete within the next year hopefully to live and was just wounding about the bars situation now. ( is the bar still out past the airport run by the big s/american, Hulger? )

He owns the ground and the building, since May 1 he does not run the bar anymore. The bar is leased out to an austrian couple which runs the business now.

Themes always change when the ownership changes, so Terrys Millwall and sporting theme would have changed too. The new owners have gone a different route from Terry, but the same tired old route as most bars run by locals; they have to have their choice of music played at ear-splitting, eardrum shattering, maximum volume so that you can't even hear the voice of the person sitting next to you.

I've only been there twice since it changed hands, once to convince me that I didn't want to go there again, and once more to confirm it.
