While at Robinson Mall today there was an exhibit for the dreAMLANd Nature & Adventure Park. I spoke with the attendant, he mentioned the park has animals, is 20 P bus ride from Dumaguete, and cost 25P entrance. Has anyone visited the dreAMLANd Nature & Adventure Park, and what was your reaction/recommendation. It appears to only been open since the beginning of the year. I have some visitors in town ranging from 18 year old, to about 48 year old, and looking for something of interest to have them visit. Thanks for you ideas and comments.
M8 should not be a problim finding some for the 18 year old to do , might be a bit harder for the 48 year old . A friend of mine went there 2 weeks ago with his family he was happy with his days outing, some good animal exhibits.
Alex you are right, I can handle the 18 year old, can you handle the 48 year old mother? hahahahaha @alex
We haven't visited there yet...but I have heard good comments about it and observed many cars parked along the highway (?) visiting there. It's interesting to note that this "Nature park" is a result of the Mayor's failed investment with some unknown Phil corporation to build a large "Nature Park and Resort" - zip line included - in Amlan's surrounding mountains. I know of 3 guys ( one a daily worker for me) who were hired and I do know there were construction vehicles / equipment on the area starting to clear it. Apparently, some animals were bought too early, so they were temporarily 'stored' at the current location... As I understand it, not enough LOCAL investors ( I was solicited to be a investor) were found and the project collapsed for lack of funding. Who really knows? Don
Let me guess, they have chickens, dogs, goats... And that name. They need to change it. Have we been to Dreamland? Yes we have. And we aren't going back.
Update on dreamland,it has moved now. New location is turn left next to amlan municiple and follow the road for around 4kms up the hill. Not really finished yet and lacking in animals for the zoo part. P100 adult and p40 for kids. Didn't really like the p20 to take pictures with the animals and use you own camera etc! The adventure park is at the button of the hill across the other side of the river and road is very steep and still unfinished with no bridge across the river yet. Again p100 for the adventure area and min age is 7yo and min height 4ft. Personal view it's probably not worth going back for atleast a year.
Thanks for everyones input. I thought of taking my daughter (3yo) there and now will wait a couple of years... Maybe it will be finished and better by then (wishful thinking)
Thats my neck of the woods and while its a nice idea (its really just a money racket) and in short not worth the trip, if you have been to the manila zoo, seems thats where they got their inspiration, if you catch my drift. getting there from the National Highway is straight forward enough, just turn left at the LGU in the middle of Amlan, but the road is not complete and its a little far to be considered a local trip, and even then the trike cant take you all the way (the locals themselves here are hesitant to go there, as its a pretty steep climb to the gate) so all in all i wont be rushing to get there and I have two young kids
