The Bureau of Customs in Manila is urging BoC district collector Arnulfo Marcos and Dumaguete Port OIC collector Fe Lluelyn Toring to fast-track the inventory of smuggled rice from Malaysia so legal action can immediately proceed against those responsible, including the consignee who appeared to claim the delivery.

Toring said unloading of the sacks of rice from M/L Al-Althie was stopped due to lack of space at the BoC office in Dumaguete. She confirmed orders from her superiors to look for a bodega where the shipment can be stocked in one area and be secured during the pendency of the case.

There were 4,060 sacks of 25-kilogram rice unloaded and stocked in the BoC office, with mattresses, cartons of biscuit, and plastic mats. The Coast Guard is guarding the motor launch since the remaining sacks of rice could not be unloaded yet.

I am sure the officials at the Bureau of Customs have extra room in their own houses to store the rice.. :sneaky:... and at their cousins houses too. ... and at the cousins GF's house too. :shifty:.. and at their cousins GF's friends father's houses too.. :pompus: and sooner or later they will be knocking at our doors with cheap deal on "imported" rice.:shamefullyembarrased: 25 Kilo bags are just the right size for selling on the streets of Dumaguete. And do not forget the Coast Guard that is guarding the motor launch with rice....., they have friends, family and distant cousins too.
See you all at the port area for the huge sale on "imported rice" this weekend... It is very important to have the "imported rice" sale "fast-tracked" before the rice sack inventory is completed so be there early for the special "pre-inventory sale". :cigar:
