    Hello,
This is my first time here and glad to be here. I have a few questions also. I am coming to Dumaguete to visit my girlfriend at the end of june. I just reicieved my new passport a few weeks ago. I live in Michigan, USA. I'm staying for 20 days. do I still need to get a visa or is my passport enough? second, My flight comes into Manila late around 10:30p.m. I here that flights to Dumaguete only come 2 times a day and the first flight out is at 5:00 a.m. and 12:00p.m. which means I'll need place to stay. does any one know of a cheap place to stay until my flight is ready to leave manila?

Thanks for all of the info...great site...

    MC

Welcome to the board, and hope you enjoy your visit to Dumaguete. I'm sure you will. Sounds like we will be visiting at the same time.

I use this site to book hotels in Manila: Philippines Hotels Resorts, Philippines Hotels Reservation - Asia Travel

It might be a bit pricey, but they have some pretty good discounts. Others which travel often, or live in the PI may have other recomendations.

    Enjoy!

BTW, you don't need a visa for a 20 day stay.

They'll stamp your passport for 21-day stay on arrival at the airport. You'll probably get better advice on where to stay overnight....but we stay at the Kabayan...wouldn't particularly call it cheap....but it's not too pricey either and a quick trip to the airport....and you also get free Filipino breakfast, which is a good way to start the day.....

    http://www.kabayanhotel.com.ph/index.htm

That time of night, about the same as us when we get in via Brunei, the Kabayan is 10-15 minutes max from the international terminal....

Have a great time and enjoy the visit!!

There is this hotel off Roxas Boulevard ,relatively near both the domestic and international airports.Owned by American-Filipino couple. It's only about 2.5 km from the airport and about 5 minutes by taxi .It's a better accomodation in transit when you're catching up a flight the next day .Price is cheaper too.

The distance saved us missing our flight for the UK early hours in the morning,as the major road arteries leading to the airport were badly jammed with somekind of accident somewhere which created chaos on the roads ,strange for that early hours. Our taxi ordered didn't show up or must be stuck somewhere ,so we decided can wait no more for it, we ventured walking for nearly a kilometer and lucky we catch another tiny taxi which knew the short cuts and alley ways leading to the airport. We were the last few people who got on the plane, that was lucky.

You can check this out ,this is the hotel :

Welcome to the forum, MC. I do believe that there are more than 2 flights everyday from Manila to Dumaguete though.
