There's another one called Bata ng Calabnugan a home for orphaned and at-risk girls. They make this awesome chcoolate sauce and you might find their stand at the Valencia market stationed near the primary school there.

Keep in mind the culture here is very different. A friend of mine brings hot wheels and dolls. This time they gave a girl a Barbie Doll and found out that it had been buried, unburied then buried again because the family thought she was a witch. Those Philippine witches. They are everywhere…

Hi Mark, I’m a Canadian Expat living in Culipapa, Hinoba-an, Negros, Occidental. It was inspiring to read your post and your interest in helping the poor. I’m currently building an independent Christian Library ministry which also includes a breakfast program in the local elementary school. I have pledges and ongoing support from several Churches in Canada who donate and ship Bibles, spiritual books, children’s books, CD’s and DVD’s etc. Your support would be greatly appreciated just let me know if your interested in receiving further information.

No one cares. Why should you? If you don’t believe me, try giving your money to the teacher or principals and watch how little makes it to the kids.

We all have the right to have our own opinion, I find your opinion extremely negative and primitive. It doesn't need a lot of circulation in the head to assure your donation reaches the right people. Many foreigners here helping the poor in different ways and even small donations can make a big difference.

I can tell you from personal experience, plenty of people care. But obviously not you.

Anyway, quick update. I met the owners of Bata ng Calabnugan. It's a wonderful orphanage and the Italian/ Filipina couple who run it are great people who clearly are doing their best to ensure the children at the orphanage have a bright future. With the help of some donations from friends I took the owners shopping to buy supplies for the orphanage.

I would highly recommend this place is anyone is interested in helping those in need. If anyone wants further info or photos you can pm me.
