    Well guys and ladies, it is time again to go to the phils. And Dumaguete.
    I have ordered a ticket that have end airport in Cebu (CEB) where my girlfriend will pick me up, yes I have finaly decided that I also want a phillipine woman and wow have I found a good one.
    She is from Dalaguete!

    Well she picks me up and we are going to Waterfront Hotel for a night of sleep since I dont sleep on airplanes and the day after we are heading straight to Dumaguete and hopefully to Florentina if there is something available.

    1 week there where I will meet both my brothers with family (who are there on vacation) before we go to Dalaguete for a few weeks, then back to Dumaguete for some days before again to Dalaguete for the remaining part of my 5 weeks vacation.

    If all go well I will go down again around mid. november for then a 3 month stay...and if again everything is well I might rent out my appt for a year and try a year down there. And....if everything is still ok, I`ll be selling the apt back home and start my full new life down there as retired with family hehe

    I dont know if it is going to be Duma or Dala, any suggestions for and against?

    Hi Paul, welcome to the forum.

    Just to comment on your Dumaguete or Dalaguete question...

    I got a friend (American) that lives close to Dalaguete. Except for watching the sunrise over the ocean, there's absolutely nothing for him to do over there.
    He lives for his occasional trips to Dumaguete or Cebu City.

    And you say your in-Laws live in Dalaguete?

    If that is the general observation then it seems like Dala is out of the question!
    Luckily the in-laws of that family are quite well of and dont belive in bothering their children in such a way that it might be a relationship killer.

    But nothing to do is a valid point!

    Add in the distance to adequate medical care from Dala?

    People often scoff when that point is brought up, but when it is you or your loved one that is ailing it definitely is a concern.
