    I think you will find that most Filipina that apply for a helper position barely exist in the eyes of the law. A birth certificate my be the only form of identification they have ever had, if you are lucky maybe a voter's ID. On top of that most police stations throughout the province do not have the ability to put crimes in a central database. The chances the NBI will find something is pretty slim even if they have some petty crimes on record in their provincial town...and most petty crimes in the province are dealt with locally and will rarely go above the Barangay Captain level anyways. It's a waste of time IMO. I hold the belief that the local government should be avoided whenever possible. (I've had a helper steal from me but I'm not going to waste the time reporting a petty crime to the police, it's a waste of everyone's time.)

    If a helper has previously worked the job you will be much better off asking for their previous employers contact information. Just my 2 cents.

    BTW: if you have a job description, salary, location and contact information I can post the job on the DI FB page for you. You should be aware that there is a law that outlines domestic worker's rights and wages.

    HI, i found our live in helper with the help of our landlord.
    however, you must be aware of the kasambahay law.
    you need to make a contract with maximum of 2 years ( mine is 6 months renewable ) and give them benefits of 13 month salary. social security system, philhealth and pag-ibig fund.. it is according to the law.
    I'm telling you now, it's not easy to register one.. you have to make several trips at the offices or register them online (if the website is working).. and be at the offices at opening time or the cue will be like forever... plus loads of paperwork.
    anyway...
    My helper's sister is looking for work..she is 19 years old, she used to work in manila as helper. if you want to try her, just let me know the details.. (location, salary) and I will ask her.

    In my experience, i told our helper that I will try her for five days then after that I will tell her whether she's hired or not and also if she's okay with the work or not.. then signing of the contract..

    Hi Azes, we are interested in meeting your helper's sister, and it would be good to know a bit about what the going rate is for pay, etc. What is the best way to do this? Perhaps we can swap numbers and speak on the phone? Kind regards :smile:
