hahaha thanks Pat !!! Stories from Bugis Street, Singapore, from almost half a century ago - yes. Willing to share them on an open Forum - no !!! But it was usually those sailor types that got into all sorts of difficulties while us more astute bootnecks looked on in silent mirth. :p
The best advise I can give is don't move here until you have spent at least 6 months minimum living here. take a six month vacation. you will figure out where you want to live,my suggestion is just faraway enough from the family they can come to your house in about 2 hours but need you to give them the money to do so. If you are in the states I have wells fargo as a bank and they will send 3000 dollars a month to my dollars account at BPI for a very little fee. if I keep a certain balance they will send it for free. Don't believe the woman your with until you have lived with her for at least a year. The last piece of advise I can give is don't think with your heart or ego you will save a lot of money and heart ache. Once you get it figured out it's one of the best places on earth to be.
The most compelling advice I have heard ? The best relatives live on a different island. ........... and the soundest advice of all came from BikerDave. If you're gonna get married, make sure she is an orphan !!
