Hi jimeve, thanks for the welcome!!!!! spent 2006/7 Siquijor/Dumaguete and had a few sore heads from Terry's used to leave the island for shopping and one night in Dumgt.
I heard on the grape vine ( not confirmed ) that Terry had got himself in a bit of bother thanfully thats rubbish.
    Cheers.

Hi Snowman, I was there for a few weeks a couple of months ago and I can assure you that Happy Freds was going strong, with a lot of laughter and good banter. Terry introduced me to quite a few useful contacts that may be of benefit to me when I move to Dumaguete this year. I don't know of any bother that he might have got himself in to recently, but I reckon he is big enough and mean enough to be able to handle it. He does, after all, look, speak and act like the Millwall supporter that he is, which gave me, a West Ham fan, a lot of opportunites to bait him................

Phone number is 35 422 1139 and you should be able to find him at Happy Freds or contact him at happyfredsbar@hotmail.com

    Hope this helps.

    Roger

Hi Snowman, glad the info seems helpful. I'm moving from outside the Philippines, from UK near London, as soon as I've tied up the loose ends here. I had intended to move in February/ March but with the death of my father things got delayed for a while. All back on track now. The last time I was there I checked out property in Sibulan, Valencia and Bacong - plenty to choose from, but now I'm also looking further south, maybe Dauin.

    Morning,
I'm not sure about areas outside Dumaguete as we have property on Siquijor Island and would go to Dumaguete proper once or twice a week for shopping stay a night in Harold's Mansion few beers in Terry's then back to the island.
We did use Sibulan to Santander a lot for trips to Cebu which is a nice trip up the coast.
I am a retired helicopter pitot and have rented fixed wing out of Dumaguete and have some very nice aerial photgraphes of Apo and around the Islands.
I'm sure you will enjoy your time here as we have had some great nights craic around Dumaguete, the only thing beat me sometimes was the heat.
In your time did you ever meet a guy they call "BAREFOOT JOHN" around Terry's he is a unusal guy and great craic.

The name Barefoot John isn't familiar to me, but I did meet a lot of people and can't remember all of their names, although he sounds like the kind of guy that you wouldn't forget easily !!! I'm sure there are others on this Forum who are better informed and could shed some light on it. Alternatively you could contact Terry on the email address I provided before and he could up-date you.
