WHY!?

Because it's a developing nation? It wasn't too long ago that these issues largely didn't exist. You also don't need to travel for to find places where these issues still don't exist. Maybe X developing nation or X region deals with this stuff better, but the Philippines will come around. Development is uneven. We b*tch about it because we know what a well working system looks like. Filipinos go abroad and even they start bitching about home because they also see well working systems.

Sari-Sari stores and many of these internet cafes shouldn't exist because just about anything would be a better use of that space. But wages are low and those people already own that space. Development hasn't yet steam-rolled these odd little businesses. Malls are dying in the US, so you know the same will happen here as Lazada takes off. The list goes on.

Development will come. And many of us will move on to places where there isn't so much development.

Trust me not much most of the time.
One time i went to a public school with a Pinoy friend to pick up his little monster.. man i never (or dream of it when i was a kid) saw a place like that...
Kids running around, teacher sometimes outside of the classroom chatting with some other teachers etc etc.
It was funny to see and i guess the kids are really free but the learning must not be ideal here i guess...
