And, as said here many times on this Forum, the variants are running faster than the vaccination process - even the UK (very high for vaccination coverage) is now having increases in cases and deaths, probably due to Indian variants. What hope for this country where the original vaccines will not be fully rolled out for years???
Voters have the government they deserve. Do you think they will learn from these mistakes and make wiser decisions come election time?
No. Stopped paying attention to that lot. I'll probably regret asking and won't care but what did they do this time?
Sinovac Biotech Ltd.’s vaccine is wiping out Covid-19 among health workers in Indonesia, an encouraging sign for the dozens of developing countries reliant on the controversial Chinese shot, which performed far worse than western vaccines in clinical trials. Indonesia tracked 25,374 health workers in capital city Jakarta for 28 days after they received their second dose and found that the vaccine protected 100% of them from death and 96% from hospitalization as soon as seven days after, said Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin in an interview on Tuesday. The workers were tracked until late February. Sadikin also said that 94% of the workers had been protected against infection – an extraordinary result that goes beyond what was measured in the shot’s numerous clinical trials – though it’s unclear if the workers were uniformly screened to detect asymptomatic carriers. https://ph.news.yahoo.com/china-sin...-effective-in-real-world-study-064324525.html
The electorate swung to the right by electing more Tory candidates in most classes of elections (not a General Election but one 'safe' Labour by-election seat went Conservative). There seems to be a swing to the right in many countries - or sometimes just to the incumbent party as a sort of 'thank you' for their Covid program (in the UK the governing party f*cked it up, except for the vaccination roll-out). I think the UK electorate has no idea how they are going to suffer in the next few years by giving Boris more power. I cannot think of another democratic country where the electorate entertained a buffoon as its leader - well, of course I can, but I don't want to upset anyone. "I'll probably regret asking and won't care" - Yes?
SUMC now at 100% capacity asks covid patients to seek urgent care at other facilities. What other facilities, aren't they are all at 100% capacity now? So, now what? Is another lock down coming, or do we need to look more like India first and start seeing bodies piling up? Believe it or not, there are actually places in the world where countries are providing their people with vaccinations, but hey, it's more fun in the Philippines where we are 0.6% vaccinated as of yesterday.
