we have booked our trip 2nd half august to Dumaguete.
is August peak- or low season for tourism ?
and which part in nicer to stay north of dumaguete or south and can anyone recommend a real good resort at the beach which is not too far from Duma so can get a nice cold beer at the boulevard in the evening?

There are a number of choices: Bethel Guest House is one, the Don Atilano, and Honeycomb---they are all along the boulevard.

Hi Abeth. thanks your info + website. it looks great but on our first exploring trip we are actually lloking for a hotel/resort with all facilities i.e. restaurant etc. The house you have definately is worthwhile staying once we actually move there.

Dear All. so that still leaves my quesion open. Who knows/can recommend a good quality (3-4 star) hotel/resort. we are not looking for backpackers quality but real good quality as it is only for 2 weeks.
hope to get info whether august is busy season and whether north or south of Duma is better.....
    thanks

August is low season but the last week will be a busy one due to Silliman U founder's week celebration.

I recommend Florentina Homes, an apartment type hotel with 2 bedrooms, kitchen, etc ideal for a family occupants and Hotel Nicanor, new hotel with good price.
