Tuesday pics The guys doing the tile are not fast but they are slow. They are our workers so I understand tile is not their full time job, they are doing a good job and listening to what I say so I am open to taking a bit longer and doing things correctly than rushing things. Most of the primer paint is done for the exterior (1st floor); had a couple options I was looking at for exterior paint. The blue color was too blue but think the gray color will work. The wife agrees as well as a few of the workers I asked to give their opinion. Solid progress and things are really starting to look like a house. Shawn
Wednesday pics Really weird, when I changed the name of the "kids' CR" to "general CR" I did not get the server error...I am uploading one at a time now. Doesn't look like too much but we actually got quite a bit done today. The windows have been an issue, original plan agreed to by the contractor fell apart as they could not source the correct gauge of steel. Since we went into this with the best intentions and put down 50% we had to renegotiate. The windows will work but not what I had envisioned. The wife is actually more pissed off than me as it was her "friend". The garden area is pretty simple but think it will work out pretty good, will get some shade cloth tomorrow. Went with a wood roof instead of steel as I have a lot of wood to use up. Solignum brown so it has stain as well as keeping the critters out. Heading to Dumaguete tomorrow to buy the toilets and bathroom sinks...should have bought them earlier but really lacking storage space. Will also look at the remaining light fixtures...really want LED if possible. I have overhead cabinet lights planned for the kitchen, but have not found any LED strips yet that will work. If anyone has seen then locally please let me know, if not I will go with T5 fixtures. Shawn
Thursday pics The work today was pretty much filling in the window openings and tile work. I really like the wall tile in the master bath shower stall, plus the kid installing it is doing a good job. I was pleasantly surprised that the price of the toilets included a sink and some bath accessories. The sink for the master bath is a bit smaller than I want but will think about if we will use it or not. The faucet has a mixing valve which we only need cold as I only ran hot water to the showers. I already bought the towel racks, TP holders, etc. so what came part of the set will be given to the wife's parents. Shawn
We will have spray nozzles at each toilet, but I need to dry off and could not find the bidet seats with the electric dryer like I used to have when I was in Korea. Shawn
The female manager by "Rejoyce sanitiar" offered me one some years ago for something like P23.000. I don't think she ever sold it so give it a try if you're willing to pay that for having your behind dryed with warm air. jacob
