I ended up ordering everything from the US; did find a company in Manila with basically the same stuff but it was double the price so with getting a box shipped over it ended up being quite a bit cheaper. Shawn
Friday pics We were able to get the EVG panels to the site this afternoon, we'll start getting them installed tomorrow. The electric door latch for the personnel door at the front gate took some modifications to the metal door to get it to work properly with the combo lock. There will be a bit of work to clean things up but it works good. Everyone on site seems to be really fascinated with the video intercom...it is just such a convenience to not have to go out to the gate to open if you have visitors; plus you can screen out who is ringing the door bell. A couple of the guys spent a majority of the day fabricating some spikes for the gate (and fence panels). They look OK and once painted I guess they will be fine. Shawn
Looking good mate , when are you "in" ? I can imagine a few of those san mig bottles being evacuated of their contents at a rapid rate when you no longer have to return to the apartment each evening
Tony, We are paid up on rent at the apartment for another 2 weeks+ so Cherry is not in too much of a rush. We had to get a new battery for the multi cab today so I will have it up and running tomorrow and plan to start moving furniture on Sunday. If any of the workers want to show up they can start moving furniture with me. Will also utilize the trike (easier to tie stuff to the top of that). I plan on sleeping at the house on Monday, can always bounce back and forth for internet until Cherry get's it transferred. We are also paying a brother in law (different one than we fired) to stay at night, would prefer to pay him to work during the day. Shawn
That's great news, I know how nice it is to finally move into a home designed and built yourself. Enjoy.........
Yes Sir, we are really excited about getting moved in, obviously there is still quite a bit of work left to do but things are really coming together. Shawn
Saturday pics As I've said before, I love these EVG panels mostly due to how quickly they can be installed. 2 guys were able to get most of the second floor panels done today. There is a bit more to do as well as the extra rebar I want installed, but such a fast install. No workers tomorrow, so we will start moving a few things over and take care of a couple other things. The wife wants to move the bulk of our stuff starting Monday, which is fine since we plan to stay at our house from Monday. Shawn
Monday pics Sorry for just a few pics today, moved a bunch of stuff over from the apartment. I was running back and forth as well as trying to get some final paint done before moving in furniture and stuff. The plumber left me short 4 meters of 1" pipe to the tank and with almost 20 meters extra of 3/4" pipe. Will run to Dumaguete tomorrow to pick up some more materials first thing in the morning. Was also going back and forth on building everything for the closet, but Citi Hardware has a pretty decent unit that will work for one side of the closet, will build out the other side eventually. Should be able to get things plumbed in tomorrow (if we get back early enough) to have the tank hooked up and at least temp water to the fixtures; still will need to find where the float switch is and install the filter. We are staying at the house tonight so am pretty stoked about it. Shawn
You know..you have been so busy..so long..when this well deserved rest shows up you might find yourself hard put to relax...Meaning there is going to be a part of you inside saying. *You should be busy doing something*..*GRIN*
