If Gwapo+Debonair is still available...fits nicely after my name....may not neccessarily apply but it strokes my ego.
Well Shawn that's Life, Full of Surprises, Twists and Turns But I am sure there is now some straight road ahead. Full steam ahead. :D Foot down, full Throttle let's Go JP
A few pics from today Cherry's cousin (the kid with metal skills) has been sick the past few days, so the only work going on is rendering. The wife also has them bringing a few bags of dirt each day from the village, I need truck loads but she wants to keep the few bags of dirt a time coming, funny but it is what it is. The garden is coming along pretty good. Planted some more corn and it is all coming up. I'm also trying cauliflower and radish, normally a cooler weather crop, but trying to see if I can get it to grow with the roof and shade cloth. Actually have some flowers show up on the pepper plants. I have something eating the watermelon plants, I keep checking but haven't found the culprit yet...even checking at night. Shawn
Is Tanjay close to Dumaguete? Well I guess I could check the internet map but I was just wanting to say I buy soil from a guy here in Dumaguete for p1,000 a truckload. Good dirt with very few small rocks.
How many cubic meters per truckload? I will need to bring in truckloads at some point, but the few bags a day is just the wife's family wanting to help out anyway they can and I do think it is cool how much they have done to help us with the house build. Shawn
I took some pics last night but did not have time to upload them until now. I don't like how the fence looks like completely walled in, but it has made a huge difference when it rains, though it cut down on my airflow a bit. One of Cherry's uncle and aunt stopped by the house the other day (first time I ever met these 2); long story short, they raise worms for vermicompost and I mentioned that was something I would be interested in at some point. Anyway, they brought a couple kilos to me last night so we are building a worm bin today. A bit of a surprise but was very impressed with the quality of what they brought me. I talked to a steel guy on Tuesday because I want a experienced steel worker when we do the roof trusses, but he's from Dumaguete and takes care of his 3 kids so he wants to think a bit before letting me know. I get the feeling he is not up for the drive back and forth each day, so I will keep looking. Shawn
