Seeing how long the lines are at the market, I think putting this out there is good. Hopefully, this will slow the spread. Status quo not working.

I think the highest temperature I’ve been scanned at in the last weeks was 35.9*C. These laser thermometers need to be calibrated, they don’t just work out of the box. Obviously no one has ever read the instructions.

I went to West Balabag Barangay Hall in Valencia today and asked for a household quarantine pass. I was told, "Not yet, sir."
When asked when I could get one they said, "waiting on the order from the Governor" (or perhaps mayor, they seemed pretty disinterested so I didn't ask for any further clarification).-

I got a pass today and was told, as of this time at least, Dumaguete and Valencia are not requiring it except for entry into banks.
They also said, as of now, the only thing that is being strictly enforced is the curfew.
Given mixed messages and the government itself probably being in some state of confusion, take that for what you will.-

Been quarantined for 7 days now and actually am enjoying the peace. Only issue I do have is 3 days ago after drinking my 5am 1st coffee, there was a dead giant Cockroach in the bottom of my cup. How yummy that was. Anyways.... think I will be ok as I didn't get ill at all but I do have the sudden urge to crawl under the refrigerator.

This is the type of control used when farm animals get infected (e.g. foot-and-mouth, African swine fever) so that cars travelling from farm to farm don't carry the virus on their tyres (they also disinfect footwear - of the people, not the animals!). In such cases, there is no passage of animals at all - usually they are slaughtered and incinerated on the spot (fortunately this is not happening with Covid-19 and humans!).
The check point should be checking the people inside the vehicles - they, along with door handles, are the way the virus might be getting in.-

We called yesterday and spoke to a person at the Sibulan Municipal Hall who seemed knowledgeable, she said that enforcement of the quarantine pass will not begin for at least 2 to 3 days because the Barangays were not prepared with the materials needed to create the passes. She said they are all scrambling to create the passes as quickly as possible. As they expect that all persons are currently staying at home, and they do not want crowds of people coming to get passes, when the passes are ready they will be sending out teams to go house-to-house and distribute the passes.
