Our Q pass from Dauin has both our names on. We’re only supposed be out one at a time, but going thru checkpoints on the highway we said I didn’t know where to buy things and she can’t drive. One of those statements is true at least. Has anyone living outside Duma been able to enter the city on those designated half day like this?

I dont have a licence so dont drive here, last Tuesday I was due to pickup my passport, so 1st had to go to local Barangay to get pass for Dgte, no problem there, but then had to get pass for the LGU bus that brings in the local workers no bother there either
drama was when we got to the 1st big check just short of St Paul university, I was coming from Sibulan direction (hey foreigner was the shout from the front of the bus, some laughed but not laughing when i told them to shut up and mind their own business in bisaya), the checker couldnt read the letter I was given by the barangay as to the reason why I was going to Dgte, didnt understand what immigration was or where it was or why I would want to go there, took me off the bus, but by the time he just handed me back everything the bus had not moved an inch, so jumped back on the bus to be greeted by a closed immigration office

Yes. Not on a motorbike though. I see many other cars with multiple passengers so I don't think it's a problem..

Yes I live in Valencia and made it through the checkpoint last Tuesday afternoon. They recorded details of my Q pass and let me through. I came back with groceries from Hypermart and went through an extra checkpoint (not encountered on the way down) where they viewed my Q pass. When I got to the original checkpoint they remembered me and whilst I stopped, they waived me through. I went the back way not the highway and there was no congestion. I have not tried otherwise but at least for that exercise the process was simple and I will do the same next Tuesday. Note I was a single person on a motorcycle not with a back rider.

Went to Bacong and back to dgt the other day on a borrowed q-pass. Going to Bacong I took the diversion road, there was a small barangay level checkpoint that would have caught anybody trying to go into dgt proper that way but going out waved me through.

along valencia-bacong highway big checkpoint, check q-pass, temperature measurement, shoe sole desinfection, hand washing, was finally let into bacon (yay!).

Back to Duma on the main highway, no traffic at the checkpoint into Dumaguete (no visiting hours for non-residents), q pass check, temperature measurement, had to get out of the car and walk through some gate spraying desinfectant (?) all over me. totally ridiculous and the reason I'll take the diversion road both ways next time...

This is really bad. You have no idea of what the chemical is or what dilution they used and yet had it sprayed all over you!

The problem is they are 'experienced' only in dealing with non-human animal diseases (such as pig diseases) and are using systems to prevent passage of pathogens between live stock establishments. But these usually involve the disinfection of things directly in contact with the ground, such as car tyres and footwear - I had never heard (and I worked with animal viruses) of the animals being sprayed (usually they kill them and burn them on the spot).

There is a great danger they will cause harm to humans if they start spraying people - possibly more harm than the virus itself (in this low infection area). It is a really very bad idea!

I know you are a smart guy and hope you showered asap.

zonrox is bleach as far as I know, and it really depends on the concentration but that can be dangerous for the eyes and cause skin irritation, not to mention damage whatever clothes you're wearing.

Whatever it was, I stuck the clothes into the laundry immediately and showered once I got home. If it was bleach based, it had to be very diluted as I didnt notice any smell.

Apparently in Sibulan they got the same thing in big, a drive-through thing for spraying trucks and cars.
