So you intend to put up a call center/bpo in the Philippines? That is very good. The Philippine government had been encouraging investors to come and start their business here. That is why we already see the proliferation of enterprises owned and managed by expats or foreigners. I don't think that is a problem. In fact, it would greatly help our economy. The first thing you need to do is to register your business with DTI or the Department of Trade & Industry located across Scooby's near Lee Plaza. DTI is on the second floor of that building that houses a branch of BPI bank that is across Scooby's. Usually, the fee to have your business name registered is only around Php 300.00. Do you already have a name for your business? Also, getting a DTI certificate of registration is easy. You can even wait for it. After that, getting the Mayor's permit would require such documents as residence certificate (also easy to secure) and maybe ID pictures, etc.

In 2007 I was transferred to Manila from Singapore so the company (IBM) pre-arranged 9G work visas for my ex-wife and I (my wife was not allowed to work).
My work was consulting and project management running the company’s internal outsourcing in Manila and India.
I was paid from the US and the US and the company settled with the Philippines for my housing and taxes.
To justify the work permit I had to show transcripts from my computer science degree and years of experience to show the required expertise wasn’t available in the Philippines.-

My dua ringitt; DON'T DO IT! If you "need" to start a business here, you're not ready to retire here yet. Go home, work and save, until you're financially stable w/o working.

Go to your Municipal office and get their list of requirements, follow it (business name registration etc ) and apply for the Mayors Permit but there are not too many businesses allowed to be owned by a foreigner, check the internet for that, there is lots there easily understood. (I will be able to own 100% of the business with minimal capital requirements because at least 60% of the revenue will be from sources outside the Philippines.)???? Whats this????? Beware! Think you may have misunderstood.
