Sure, there are a lot of foreigners here chasing young girls, many just to young. There are some really sick foreigners here as well. I'll admit that, but not all of us are.
However what should also be mentioned is that so many of these *younger* girls you meet lets say under 21 most have a horror story if you get to know her long enough on how a filipino boyfriend, family member, neighbor and such forced her, raped her, tricked her, and so forth. Some may be just pity stories or because they are to shy to say the truth but many are very real. The culture here is such things are no big deal as far as the police go and if the father doesn't chase him down with a bolo and give out family justice then its all good.
The culture is also one that teaches Filipino's that Filipino's are just not good, just not beautiful, and just not worth anything. To be anything one must be a hyphenated Fil like Fil-Am or so forth. The TV stars, movie stars, beauty queens, and so forth are almost always mixed and very light skin. This leaves many feeling if they want to improve their worth and families worth they need foreign blood added in yet they don't even realize this but simply pursue it. I'm no good looking hunk but am a younger foreigner here with near 7 years experience. I have met and briefly dated a few Filipina's who were educated and late 20's to early 30's who said they weren't looking for a relationship but simply wanted to have a kid with white skin... quick turn off to me.
So remember, whenever they point a finger at us they have 3 more pointing back at themselves. Its past time Filipino's take responsibility for their own passive failures in their culture.
With that said I still love the Philippines and the people and country have a lot of great things. Its just time to stop blaming foreigners.

So I've heard there are 50,000 iligals from the ph in the UK, they are not hounded like some are here. If they are caught they are treated with respect and even when imprisoned they are fed with comfortable beds and good food until deported.
And again unlike the ph!
The legal ones nearly have the same rights as any UK citizen have, they pay their stamp and taxes and they get treated with respect by the UK. In general the Filipinos who are there have a pretty good life albeit only a 2 year visa but can return if they wish.
The ones I knew in my small town all lived in a rented house and shared the bills, they sent most of their money to their families back here.
Maybe one day the ph will get the drift and respect us also like they do when they are in our country's.-

I think this person seems rather bitter, either a troll or a Filipino woman who has been jilted by Westerner.
There may be some truth in the post but it is stereotyping in the extreme. Many of us know how to behave.-

I guess anonymouse asked all those old white guys if their gf's where of legal age, and check i.d.'s of course to backup his claims.
And I'm wondering, at what 'magic age' does one transform from being an 'accepted' hipster backpacker to an unwanted old white guy?
There are approx 5 million from this SE Asia area of the world working in countries where the 'white guy' is from. What would happen if those countries decided to say; "hey you foreigners are sh*t - go home."-

Sadly Dumaguete has more than its share of drunken expats. Recently after waiting over two hours for food that did not come in Coco amigos we gave up. Walked down to Bogarts close by and were disgusted by a group of dirty filthy drunken expats shouting and screaming. This was around 10pm.
Immediately walked out, most bars we have visited have been fine but the city just seems to attract a lot of the dregs . Even around an area in the market we have observed them drinking early morning. One must wonder what the locals must be thinking.-

You have to get to know the different places here. This is a place with many expats as well as many tourists. Some of the businesses which pop up cater to different groups. I to to the places where I can be myself and not be bothered that I offend anyone. Indeed, if you were to complain to the management and threaten never to come back, you wouldn't get much sympathy.
Open your eyes. It's your bad if you site down next to a table full of loud expats pounding alcoholic drinks and then get upset because of their behavior. Just the same, you wouldn't walk into a biker bar and then complain to the trash talking, tattooed Hell's Angel next to you for being too rowdy.
Whynot is a bit deceiving. It looks like a clean, family place during the day. Visit the disco at night and all thoughts of family friendly would go right out the window.
Customer service is important, but part of good customer service is the refusal of service to those who aren't a good fit for your service. Resto-bars rely on high volume, but many of them also rely on niche services to distinguish themselves from the competition.
If you aren't sure of which places are generally family friendly, then ask here.-

New clothes are certainly not necessary but clean clothes are. Moreover, bathing is a must. A stinky foreigner is bad news.

When I last went there, a few expats sat drinking having a good chin wag, but there was one particular guy who was louder than the rest, every sentence had the f**k word some times two f**ck words in a sentence. Would'nt bother me but wife was with me plus other women. Not going to tell you what Nationality they was, but I'll give you three guesses.

Personally I only buy new cloths when the ones I have are not suitable for going out in public.....sometimes in the Philippines I let it go a bit longer as buying cloths there is extremely aggravating (and I only have to find XL sized shirts).
