Sadly Dumaguete has more than its share of drunken expats. Recently after waiting over two hours for food that did not come in Coco amigos we gave up. Walked down to Bogarts close by and were disgusted by a group of dirty filthy drunken expats shouting and screaming. This was around 10pm. Immediately walked out, most bars we have visited have been fine but the city just seems to attract a lot of the dregs . Even around an area in the market we have observed them drinking early morning. One must wonder what the locals must be thinking.
Ah ha! And what were you doing out late at night, 10pm? Shouldn't you be safely tucked away in your clean pajamas in bed?
Is think this woman is just trying to brush up on her poor English because most of what she says makes no sense. I have a feeling she has had a run in with an ex-pat who put her in her place and embarrassed the hell out of her for something. She goes on to say she likes "young and adventurous backpackers." So it is the "old foreigners she has trouble with?" Obviously whoever she is you can tell she is angry. IMHO there is nothing wrong with being a garbage truck driver or being a postal clerk. They are honest jobs that pay real money. I admit that some foreigners can be testy, arrogant and rude but they are not all like that. Some a-holes make it bad for the rest of us. Anyway, most of us can't help it that we are old. It doesn't mean we should stop living! For myself, I am not here to please everyone. I mostly like to be left along and am not good around around rude and obnoxious people. [DOUBLEPOST=1435924012,1435923895][/DOUBLEPOST] Hm dirty and filthy you say? Having a great time getting drunk were they? Pitty!
Dirty and filthy? I think you may have responded to the wrong reply. Was it meant for the OP or Bruce?
