Try Fasting for two days in every week, well not quite a true fast but amazingly good for your longer term health and wellness.. I see no studies done on this......other than the one the "doctor" did, who is making money off selling his book/diet. Many studies are mentioned and said can be found but none referenced. In the FAQ it specifically says people with diabetes who are taking insulin should not do the diet.
The best study I guess is the one you do yourself. It can't hurt fasting for a few days (unless you have some conditions that require you to eat regularly). If it works for you, do you need to know how? If not, garbage it. With the lifestyle many foreigners live here (beer, fat food etc. etc.) it just can't be bad to give the body a few days a week to relax on carrot juice ;-)

It costs nothing to reduce your calorie intake for a few alternate days in every week.. you don't need to buy any book although I have bought the book for about £2 English.. If you have no willpower you may try Chitin tablets instead. The Chitin absorbs fat from the food you eat and it passes through the body. Years ago it worked for me. I stopped using them because my usual store quit carrying them and health food stores were expensive.
Some guy was telling me about something called the Manila Diet Plan. Said it centered around having a few puffs of this smokable diet aid he sold. Looked like rock salt. It must work though, his clients were skinny as rails.
Alex, you will have to check your local health and nutrition stores or possibly order online. One of the brand names is Chitosan. It's just part of a shellfish shell that absorbs fat separated out and made into tablets, nothing tricky at all unless you have shellfish allergy. It worked, but when my local store quit carrying it I didn't want to go out of my way and pay twice as much to buy it from someone else. Added benefit it acts as a stool softener too when you go to the CR, not loose stool but softer, the fat passes through after all.
