So no longer to live in dumaguete...I thought maybe valencia but then still too close to this cough and fever epidemic going on for 4 months with me..at most 2 days reprieve then again and worst when rain moves in...i was in bayawan weeks ago and went up the mountains and 1 day there was so refreshing and symptoms were all gone all day until the bus made it back near bacong: then congestion and lung irritation and delirium that I've known for 4 months....Some one said go to baguio ,so I may just do it but I'm still looking into feasibility and what if get there and no reprieve? never been baguio to know better...Bayawan area in mountains:no electricity and not much there(maybe why its clean)...Any way on the whim of the next fit of delirium I could be gone....

Baguio is not so clean these days air wise either.

Are in using AC a lot? After 1-2 days in AC I start hacking and coughing, and will continue to do so until I get away from it for a few days, or in some cases, months. After one particular night in a Cebu hotel room, I coughed and hacked for a year after ward!

Hey Tunji, Sounds like you need to see a doctor. I think it will be to polluted in Baguio, a friend of mine says that there are far to many spluttering motor cycles. Maybe if you move out of town away from the pollution, sea air is always good but not mixed with petrol and diesel fumes. Is there maybe a Chinese herbalist in Duma they could help ? As stated Air con can be a big problem for some lungs. Take care Tunji. I am sure there are lots of places with good fresh air, usually not in the bigger towns and Cities.

Tunji, the Bacong air is pretty clean, perhaps you got a nasty bug that needs some attention. Hope we don't lose you but if you gotta do what you gotta do, best of luck and get well soon.

Tunji, I sent you a pm. Also I know of a 2 bedroom 1 cr in a private compound in Zamboanguita on the beach with a pool. It is around 300 mtrs. off the highway and the air is clean. I think the rent is P18k but not sure.

Try to visit an IM-Pulmo specialist doctors for the lungs. Try to clean your bed, change mattress, blankets, pillow cover every 5 days or more often. Always clean your aircon air filter. Some got allergies on fruit bearing trees around the house...mango...coconut and some by their pets like dogs, cats, and chicken around. Disinfect your house. Some are allergic to scents, perfumes /cologne you used or your partner or people around the house.

I live in Baguio and would not recommend it, it might be 10 degs. cooler but in the last three years the taxi's/jeepneys has has increased three fold, it's hard to see across the street sometimes. We have a child coming and we are moving no-way i would bring a child up in this crap..

You could also have Acid Reflux. That can also cause chronic coughing. Are you checking your temp or just feeling hot? All too often my wife will say one of the kids has a fever and she wants to give medicine. I get out the thermometer and take the temp and its normal. I have to tell mama to stand down.

I know someone who had that similar condition. She was taking all sorts of medications, antibiotics, herbs, etc., but to no avail. She had this type of cough that made her pee in her pants and her face would turn red during such attacks. She just made a trip to this miraculous place somewhere in the outskirts of Cebu, I think it is Simala, and she felt better after that. The stubborn cough took off a week after the visit. And don't forget to drink plenty of water, the best medicine.
