⌛ Info wanted on living in other affordable countries

Looking for nuance in other countries to retire to besides PI. Same cost of living or a bit more, how long to renew tourist visa, food availability and do many have english as second language. Any places other expats have lived and enjoyed? Thanks for sharing, Patty

 

i lived in thailand for nearly 6 years and enjoyed it Patty. Have a google, read some forums there to get a feel for it and make a visit....

Kenya rocks, along the coast South of Mombasa.

 

I heard great stuff about Tanzania

 

Costa Rica is nice with great healthcare.

 

My personal list: I'm biased to the Philippines slightly but I know of several better places in the region. Visas are always an issue...but I'll just list according to my own criteria.

9. Oman (not sure if publicized expat retirement visas ever materialized - beautiful place though)

Perhaps the cheapest place to live in Asia is Laos, and the food is great.

I have lived to south west China, and although some cities are quite polluted, others are not. They are certainly cheaper with better infrastructure than the Philippines. Same could be said for northern Thailand.
