⌛ Interesting Call Tech info

I was talking to a couple banking reps from Cebu here in Dgte the other day. The told me that Dgte's Call Tech call center has a 3yr sweetheart deal with the local govt(s) that no other call centers can come into town during that period.

Why? Because Call Tech Dgte only pays its' operators P7000/mo, instead of the P15K-P20K/mo they're paid in Cebu City for example..

Having no other call centers to compete with let'd them drop the wage by 50% or more.

 

I also came across either a blog or an article about it a year or so.That isn't good business practice for dumaguete govt, stiffling possible upportunities of further BPO investments coming to the area only because of the deal made between teletech , in effect only underpaying its employees 50% less than they should be getting.And who were making the decision,perhaps only one or two disorientated politicians who can't tell the difference between black and white.
