Owning the building and renting it out as the Dude said sounds like the most workable business to be in.

I had heard the idea online of running storage for expats who may have to return to their home country for longer periods so they basically don't have to give away all their houshold goods and start over when they come back, if they don't pay their rent, you sell their stuff.

That sounds feasible Robert, as long as they sign a Waver negating you of any responsibility when the Rats and Mice nibble their share, dust or mildew etc as I am sure even if you used sealed Shipping Containers, humidity and vermin (2 & 4 legged varieties) would take their toll over time, but it is something that could work. Does Dumaguete have Storage Facilities like other Countries where you can safely store your belongings? (God only knows WHY people keep Treasures in them?)

My son goes to an internet cafe on the highway near the Airport. he says they are very busy on school days when the parents think their kids are in school. Mostly on line gaming is what they do and the cost is only P15 per hour. How they make money beats me.....

The answer to that would be "Bit Coin Minning" while your PC's are idle, you should be making millions(Pesos)with 10 or more PC's...

Brian, I was thinking of the usual U-store it here in Texas, tin building with a 4 inch raised concrete floor. There is no assurance against vermin or an outright flood, just a dry place to put your stuff that is under observation and with your own padlock. I would have the contract say that the contents were mine after the renter was 30 days past due, longer than that and the contents probably would be mostly trash. I would not advertise that part though.

Here in Oz Storage Laws are a Land Mine waiting to go off! If I were to leave a box of items at your house here and ask you to look after them, by Law they become your responsibility, but most definitely never your property. First step is to legally attempt to contact the owner of the goods, failing a response. you then contact the local Court House and place an Ad advising that you will be disposing of the items you hold in storage after a set period. Once that passes, then you take them to the local Bailiff who then auctions the items off and places all monies collected into an Account in the case that the original Owner should return to collect. Many state that after a set period they belong to you, I also thought this to be the case until some friends tripped up, they notified a mate that they were moving and told him nay times via text and phone calls to come collect his stuff otherwise they were leaving it in his room under the house, which they did. Cleaners came through and cleaned up, a few months later he came around to pick up his stuff and he was informed that they left it just as they had said they were going to do, next thing they had a Court appearance whereby they had to pay him $1800.00 Restitution for his lost belongings... I am sure a Business would have a different MO to adhere to but watching Locker Wars, I feel treasures are few and far between when items are left behind in the real world.
