    The whole world should bring a class action law suit against China for eating bats dogs cats bugs snakes and other meat and inflicting this disease on the world.

    You, and many others here, are adding your own narratives to my words, taking nearly everything out of context and ignoring the main points, questions and request for information I have posted just to massage your own fears, biases and beliefs.

    No matter, now that I see that nobody here can provide any new useful, logical, fact and statistical based information I'll go back to largely ignoring any COVID-19 topic posts made here.

    Rye, what you will never get from me here is insults. This is not the place for that. Just pointing out that your views are probably at the extreme opposite end to others here and as I said, that's your prerogative. I just hope that you are never in a situation of requiring the help of others, which I can read is something that you feel will never be the case. We all think that when we're younger. Stay safe.

    I don't disagree with any of that and my point was much more simplistic: younger people should not think that they are without any responsibility in society and if a few old folks die, well that's OK. That may be a little exaggerated, but it's the message I've taken from a number of Rye's comments which seem a little bit like the bravado of youth (views he is perfectly entitled to have). Just giving a push-back argument. My point was nothing to do with the US economy, an entity I could not care less about.

    My main point is how long the patient stayed in the hospital consuming hospital resources. (93 days) If patients either died or recovered quickly the impact to the healthcare system would be much smaller.

    With these long intensive care hospital stays it only takes a few COVID cases to clog up the system and deprive other health conditions the resources they need. Cancer, heart attack, etc.

    As I read some minor news items, the Philippines, though being far from science-illiterate, does not have the resources to support a lab and seek a Covid vaccine. It will however, supply test subjects (guinea pigs) for the vaccines of others. Probably the one under development by mainland China.
