Haven't posted anything on DI for a long time, but read most everything...... I can understand Larry and his wife and how they feel deep inside about the situation that occurred in the Barrio. Baste on all I have read on DI the last year and what DI brings to intelligent people, I would shut down DI for good. All the info we need when living in Philippines is available on internet, or get info by texting or calling a friend. Personally for me and my family, we have so many other things to do, rather than Blah Blah Blah on DI. Just my humble opinion.

The large majority of threads on this forum are meant to help people that are moving to Dumaguete and about things going on in the area. There is a bit of information on the web about Dumaguete but most google searches will direct people to this forum within the first page of results. The people in this forum, along with any other group in real life, will have disagreements. Why should the forum go? If you don't like it feel free to leave it as you would any social group you had problems dealing with. Instead of inferring that the members of the forum are not intelligent maybe you could just save the insults and leave?

I would like to remind you that you voluntarily joined this forum...I guess you question your own intelligence? I would also like to add that it is not spelled "baste" but rather, "based"... If you are going to say I'm not intelligent you should, at the very least, do a spell check. Unless you were basting all the words you read on the forum and were preparing to eat them...in which case I apologize for the correction.

Sucks your name got dragged into something you had nothing to do with but that was an action taken by one member and one member alone. Don't blame everyone on the forum for the misdeeds of one.

Interesting thread.. I guess this is Mature peoples business.. I have gotten used to another forum site where members come on and say what they want to whoever and get banned.. Then they register as a new member under a new user ID and continue their MO and the cycle goes on.. On the up side it gives the forum a tally of over a million members where many members are duplicates of just one person..
DI is a tame forum even at its worse.. Maybe PhIlIpPiNeS is strict about forum member conduct.. We aren't doing jail time for smoking it in Colorado.. Cheers everybody..

Please, between foreigners, let's stop with the personal attacks. Especially if there is any possibility that we could possibly meet each other. Lets try to meet over a coffee or tea.

I have witnessed enough horrid foreigner on foreigner behavior this past month that I feel like this is a reasonable request.

When you corrected me I thought to myself "f$%*, I made a mistake correcting someone's mistake". I had to check myself on that.

Luckily, Google was on my side on that one....and I have a pretty good spell checker on my computer and phone. I actually get the red line under "spelt" as well. Apparently my spell check is American.

Sometimes I get them so wrong that my spell checker just shrugs its shoulder and gives a little snicker. For the life of me I can never remember how to spell "restaurant" (sh#t, got it wrong that time too) and maintenance (d#mn those red squiggly lines....yeah, can't spell squiggly either). skwiggly lol, I'm an idiot

    Wyre,
When my sisters and I were younger (very younger) my Dad would ask us to spell Diarrhoea, I thought his english lessons were a load of S**t!. To be perfectly honest I am Dyslexic and I never could spell it!
Truely, I spent half my life not knowing I was Dyslexic (thought I was just thick) and the other half, up to now, trying to over come it. Word Blindness is what I prefer to call it. Hence I use one liner's or quotes to get my points across.
There are many times, especially during a conversation in a room full of people I clam up, unable to get my view point over as a result of Dyslexia. NOW the truth is out buddy. take care, stay safe JB
