[QUOTE="shabbynomad70, post: 227807, member: 5623" one of the nice things about the phils is that when i go see a doctor, that is my second opinion. i make my first using google and local labs and then see if the doctor agrees with me![/QUOTE] We can agree on this one, mon ami. Even in the UK I did the same thing. GPs are 'Jack of all trades but masters of none'. I remember having a very sore eye, like a brick was lodged in it! FIVE doctors looked and said there is nothing there - eventually I asked my wife (at that time) to look and she immediately spotted an ulcer under my eyelid. Took her about 30 seconds. In the UK and in Phils, I have disagreed with the opinion of medical specialists on two quite important matters and was proved correct. Best to have an idea about a condition before being fobbed off or treated incorrectly.
Anybody used a self Blood sugar monitor kit? How accurate are they? Had a blood test at a clinic and they just handed me my results on a piece of paper. No doctor to explain the blood chemistry or anything else.
