Maybe I am old fashion straight but I admire the “indescretions” of presidents Kennedy, Clinton, and Trump because that is what most of us would have done if left to our own devices.
(Apologies if not quite on topic)

Are you confusing "Ladies men" with "Ladyboys"?

Think there might be a cultural element here too...Asian cultures have a tradition of a “3rd Gender”. The Hijras of India and Pakistan come to mind.

Gender Identity Disorder is done away with in DSM-V in favour of Gender Dysphoria...a Disorder being the more illness and hence discriminatory label. Dysphoria meaning a marked incongruence between a persons expressed gender and their assigned gender - which is basically socially constructed. Not my job to pathologise in short, I’ll leave that to those with political/religious agendas.

To lighter matters...I haven’t noticed the bayots on the Boulevard. But I’m rarely there after dark anyway. My own personal conclusion is that some ‘pass’ skilfully - whereas others do obvious and sometimes comedic-tragic attempts. Those with Filipina partners here might quiz them about some of the cultural beliefs about bayots here. If we get this thread moved to the controversial section I’d be happy to write about those (Philippine) beliefs. Not for the ‘family’ section of the forum.

I don't feel here are more ladyboys than in other asian countries, at least I am happy to live in such an open and tolerant society. great for them, great for me. only thing I wonder sometimes; why are the ladyboys mostly so ugly here? I know, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but compared to Thailand, where there are so many breathtaking beautiful ladyboys, it's really poor here. many look to me like half man, half woman as if they would be too shy to take the last step to look like a real woman. I am not talking about surgery, I know that is too expensive for most of them, for me it's just about style and appearance - a little bit more make-up, hairstyle or whatever - hope this will be improved in future :-) not for my personal well-being here; my hetero life is great :-)

When a woman put men clothing on, nobody says anything. If a man just put one single piece of women clothes then he will hear alot. Most people forgot that many of today women attire was once men attire until the french revolution. Women did fight quite well to get their hands on men clothes like pants. While most men are to frightened to broaden their wardrobe. From an anatomic aspect it would be better for women to wear pants to lower the chance of an urinary tract infect. While men should be wearing skirts to lower the chance of infertility and squeezing of the genitals. (There was a study about this but I'm sure it got removed because the result was against the western standards.

When is trans really be trans? A woman putting on all men clothes will probably still not be considered trans. I do not think, putting one to three pieces of the other gender on, will be enough to be qualified as trans. It is the complete appearance which qualifies if someone is trans or not. A man in a skirt, a dress, high heels or even in pantyhoses is not trans similar to a woman in pants, suit, men shoes or men shirt.

Anyway why do we have such big issues with people being different or outside of a narrow self/society constructed frame? Let the people being themselves and we should be happy about the variety of live.

That's called "drag".....though I'm not sure where drag stops and trans starts....or if there is a different mentality/thought from the person doing it. I believe that "Drag Queens" are usually gay men that identify as men and (flamboyantly) dress up as women to put on a, usually comedic, show on stage at gay bars. I'm sure some men have some kind of "kink" and get sexual gratification out of it as well. Humans are weird.

Edit; btw, the reason gay men and women are viewed different by society as a whole is because they have completely different cultures. Gay women (the "Tomboys") tend to do a much better job at acting like men than gay men do acting like women.

Hanging out with Tomboys is like hanging out with guys. They tend to emulate societal male norms quite well. Whereas gay men (at least those that flame) have their own unique culture that, to me, seems to be extremely hyper-sexualized. Of course these cultures are on a spectrum, you will have people who don't fit into these categories.

For me is drag that is stated in bold in your response above.

If wearing a skirt as a man have to do with sexual gratification is unclear. Same would count for women in pants. As I was on Bali I wore a sarong and found that quite comfortable. I guess that skirt wearing men will like the comfort of a skirt especially in hot weather. Less sweating and better sun protection than in short pants. Long pants in hot climates can increase the chance for a heat stroke by a quite big margin.

The correct term for putting clothes of the opposite gender on is Crossdressing. But it is mostly used for men wearing women clothes. For women it is no longer being used due women can wear everything today including all men clothes.

Oh, there is a connection. There is always a connection between any given thing and sexual gratification. Rule 34 of the internet. Go ahead and test the rule if you like....but don't come crying to me when you see things that can't be unseen.

Drag is a synonym for cross-dressing:

    drag.PNG
    drag1.PNG

It is still being used. "Drag Kings" are a thing:
I don't knok if you missed it or not but there was a very obvious "tell" that was not a woman. Had to remove that as it qualifies as pornography (even though I see the humor in it).
