    For the non believers;

    Negros Oriental police provincial director, Senior Supt. Rey Lyndon Lawas, has urged the Sanggunians of the different municipalities and cities in the province to pass an ordinance banning the use of full-face helmet, bonnets, and the use of T-shirts to cover the faces of motorists.

    Lawas raised this concern after the shooting incidents in Guihulngan, San Jose and in Bacong, where suspects wore bonnets to hide their identities.

    Lawas said some towns in the province, as well as Tanjay City, have implemented the ban against the use of full-face helmet and bonnets.

    The provincial director said they needed the help from the local government units to help prevent the occurrence of crimes and the opportunity to commit crime.

    Lawas said he understand the reason to some individual using T-shirts to cover their faces as protection from the sun and dust but covering the entire face when travelling is not practical as it would create suspicion.

    He is hoping to get the support from the local government units in his appeal.

    The pattern of crime incidents are observed based on the data through the Police Integrated Patrol System.*MA

    Helmets are made to protect motor bike drivers and should be fully implemented in the whole country. The statistics shows, and it is evident that helmets have saved many people from brain injuries all over the world.

    I hope the authorities don't let the gangsters run this country.

    I do agree when they say that the face can not be covered with T-shirts or similar material. A mouth cover for pollution protection should be allowed.

    I suggest that all bikes have a plate both front and back, for easier recognition. Rear plate should always be lit up after dark for other to see and also easy readable.

    We should not have one helmet rule for Dumaguete and one for Sibulan and another for Tanjay..... We need the same rules for the whole country.

    My opinion!
