Helpful advice is go out and get some sun, especially if you over the age of 50. Vitamin D probably has a protective effect, it may also be something else from sun exposure. Don't use the air conditioner more than you have to. Humidity and heat are destructive to the virus.
That's pure speculation, and I would disagree. We have no idea of knowing how many deaths and how bad it might have been without the lockdown, but looking at the early days in Italy we can get a good idea. With the crowded living areas and limited medical facilities in Manila, I think it would have been an absolute disaster. You are right about vitamin D, but getting lots of sun is still not nearly sufficient. You need at least 1000 IU per day supplement, and add 2000 mg of vitamin C.
