I came up with 5 in a second. Yes, there are things we don't like, but I don't give them much thought. If I did, I would have to leave. 1. Filipinos. Genuinely friendly. Except for obvious cases in big cities, when we get befriended by the locals it is because they really want to be our friends or at least have some cultural interaction. 2. Filipinas. They really no how to take care of their men. 3. Love of Family culture. Family first is awesome. 4. Relaxed/laid back attitude 5. Ability to live in the moment. We Americans are really good about planning for and living in tomorrow. But we tend to forget about right now.
Very much like this answer My own 5 as thought of before reading thread: [1] THE PEOPLE [1a] Their delightful sense of humour, they laugh and smile so easily, we don't need to try hard to make them laugh or smile [1b] Their humility and their respectfullness [1c] Of course we foreigners appreciate the asthetic beauty of the Filipinas, pretty eyes, long black silky hair, the all over body tan all year round + legs that never need shaving [1d] Then also, Filipinas are even more beautiful on the inside. The Filipina's attitude toward the marriage relationship, they know how to treat their Banas, western women have just lost the plot! [1e] Their overwhelming family love and broad sense of family [2] Coming from the wide BROWN land downunder, i love the GREENESS (its just so GREEN, ALL year round!) [3] Love the warm climate, never needing hot water in the shower, shorts and flipflops (nearly said thongs) all year around), oh and its good too because the filipinas never overdress [4] Particularly i loved the Loud and overtness of the Christian faith in the Philippines. Jeepneys & tricycles displaying Christian slogans written in big colourfull letters. Got to agree with Broadside about the "absence of political correctness" which says "Only minorites are allowed to have a voice" [5] As a rebelious motorcyclist who has a loooooong list of traffic violations, i love the freedom of the seemingly lawless roads, "what rules?" "whats a highway patrol car look like? "Whats a speed camera?" "Yeah, just overtake, it does not matter if somebody is coming the other way!" "yes, you can park on the sidewalk" The traffic speeds may be very slow compared to those back in OZ, but the traffic scared the hell outa me as a passenger on my 1st visit. After being in Australia for 18 months, the traffic, that she had been used to all her life, scared the hell out of Asawa on her 1st visit back LOL
many flowers, market fruits and veggies, night sky and sunrises, meeting expats, smiles of the children playing and swimming.

1. Family 2. Friends 3. The country itself (beauty of nature, etc) (And yep, no matter how many negatives it has; government, politics, and etc.) 4. My countrymen (yep, i know some of them just really suck, well it's true to all nations anyway, there always have to be a "sucker" so it's just fair) 5. Tradition, Values, Culture, Christian Faith (although i am NOT a believer anymore), Morality, Attitude, Character, Friendliness, Smiles (no matter how sad the situation is) bonus: lifestyle (easy and laid-back, just living life as of the moment) P.S I am referring to the life in the country, not in the cities. Country life is just simply beautiful.
