well that would just cost a fortune. I see why they are in short supply. Is there an exception for "classic" vehicles? I think in the US that is 20 years +, no? wishful thinking there is a legal loophole here. I know how the realistic loopholes work here. ($$)
What about getting a multicab at Rosi by the airport? are they a reliable dealer of multicabs? warranty? (for long noses) put together well? do they assemble their own or just sell "preowned"? I know that's not a proper term to use.
Rusco has a terrible reputation, for valid reasons. If you buy a unit from them, expect to find that the oil and filter has not even been changed, still the one from when it was sitting in the wrecking yard in Japan. (Just an example of what to expect) North of the airport about 300 meters is Reliance, their rep is a little better. If I were going to buy from a dealer, I would only buy from Pasajero in Cebu, their units are a little more expensive but are put together very well compared to most. My second choice would be Hilton. They will also custom build. These units are only as good as the Filipino/company that puts them together. If you want to ship Jeeps over minus the bodies (parts), I'll assemble them here using the local bodies! Attached is my last project, built from multicab running gear. Dual wheels on a positrack rear end, 4WD, dual range transfer case. Wanna go somewhere? Larry
I had read a thread about the multicab but couldn't remember what was said about the place here. Are there any places in Bacolod that assemble them that are trust worthy? That looks like one of those 4 wheel John Deer Gators, a little meaner though. how fast does that thing go? Street legal, can be registered here? I want.
I'm not sure what the surplus dealers are in Bacolod. It goes as fast as, well, a multicab! I designed it using the Gator as an idea, but yes, meaner, heavier, faster, much more payload, street legal, etc. The entire roll cage is an air tank for an onboard compressor, which runs the dump bed, air horn, air tool, etc. Larry
It's not mine, I built it special for somebody else, who is not very appreciative of it. The roof and doors were supposed to be leatherette, but that along with quite a few other finishing touches did not get done due to financial and other issues of the owner. Larry
If he doesn't appreciate it maybe he would like to sell it. How much to have one fabricated? I wouldn't need the dump bed.
We had about P280,000 into it, plus countless hours of labor. He paid us P250,000 only. I wouldn't undertake it again for less than P400,000. All wear parts were new, new clutch, brakes, COMPLETE engine rebuild, the frame is 3" heavy channel, sitting on top of 4" heavy channel, then welded together, seems filled with epoxy, then 7 coats of epoxy primer, followed by 3 coats of enamel. The roll cage is schedule 40 pipe, which encases the entire front half of the vehicle, the body is formed from 18# galvanized steel, the list goes on... We can build you about anything you want, there are many options that would be cheaper to build than this is. You can PM me if you want to discuss options. Larry
