Looking For Bridge Players.

Necroposting too Wrye. As a Cornishman I can tell you Euchre is alive and well in the bars up and down my country. In fact they have town and village leagues. So we could make a pair sometime. I've tried teaching it to the locals in Siquijor, but the "communicating with your partner is cheating" gets lost in translation.

I guess immigrants from Cornwall must have imported it to the States in the 19th Century. I guess that makes you an Honourary Kernewek! Kernow am bysken!

 

We have about 3 players interested in playing bridge. Stop in to the bar to discuss or drop me a text at 09177007749. Happy to try nd get everyone together. I am usually at the bar 8:30-11:30 am and 1:00pm till 8:00pm. Stop in we can discuss it further.

 

I would be interested in playing euchre although I'm very rusty. Much prefer spades which, with more cards, has more strategy room to maneuver in - for me anyway.

 

I played Euchre years ago, stop into Gie-Gie's and will try to get a weekly game going, I played the 24 card game (Ace-9) need four players. Maybe a good way to pass a Sunday afternoon. Plenty of tables, Aircon, and wait staff at Gie-Gie's to handle a game stop in and see me or drop me a text @ 09177007749. I also have some guys that want to play Backgammon...... Anyone interested in either give me a text.

 

Will have to stop by some time, Globe has my text set up as a roach motel - texts come in but they don't go out.

 

I love playing Spades... learned the game on a submarine in the summer of 1991, after the first Gulf War. Spades kept me sane on that deployment! I'd also be happy to learn to play bridge, whist, euchre, hearts, or any of the cousins of Spades. I don't care for poker, but I love the bidding/trick-taking card game family. Would be happy to join a game somewhere.
