I agree with my anonymous buddy. People seek marriage therapy in an attempt to change someone but in reality, the only person you should and can change is yourself. You don't need a counselor to change yourself. Philippine law does not yet provide for divorce but the lawyers can help with a legal separation. When you find out how much that will cost you, you may be more willing to change yourself to put up with her crap, or you may decide it is worth it to leave. That is the only kind of counselling that is required here.

On the other hand, if she is a church goer then ask her pastor/priest about counselling. Most clergy offer it.

Life is too short to make war instead of make love. Replacements are available here.

Why don't you just get her an account on the forum? All kinds of armchair therapists here.

But we have only offered sort-of-semi-expert-may-or-may-not-work-or-be-helpful advice for him. What about advice for her?

So my suggestion is you have to spend some pesos to get this fixed so why not buy a couple Viagras, give her one and take one yourself. You should be able to get something straight between the two of you. But if instead she takes the pill and leaves the house, see Dr. Dude's instructions.

I sort of gave up on changing others when I figured out I could not even help or change myself most of the time, so how much harder would it be to change others. :wtf:

There are decent psychologists at the universities and the hospitals offer psychiatric services (not lawyers). It might be difficult to get her to go, but if she is willing to go and admit there is a problem, that is the first step. If she refuses to go or to admit there is a problem, then there will be little more you can do. You can go and speak to someone yourself and possibly get some ideas on how to deal with your situation, but it is almost fruitless if you have to go it alone. Just MHO.....

You are screwed man. Get out of town as quickly and silently as possible. Next time you pick a mate have a list of the characteristics you want and stick to it.
I have never seen anyone become a diligent worker that is old enough to marry, man or woman. Get out now, take Dude's advice.
