Im from Jamul. and my family in Chula Vista now. Small world? Hope to see you when you get here. It's cheaper to bring the MJ here. Ron
I've spent countless hours over the last two weeks trying to figure out a way to renew mine. Seems they make it more difficult every year. I asked the salesgirl at DigitalOne how to renew and she told me "good for one year only, then you buy new one". It does seem to be the easiest way. Larry
Guess I was lucky, I have re new'd mine 3 years running with no problem, But if you let it expire, you can't get into your phone numbers until you re new. Ron
Well as near as I can tell from my last experience with them, you must have a US based credit card, be trying to renew from within the US, and have the MJ in the US at the time. Any one of the three would make me ineligible. Their customer service is a joke, After 5 years of use, it now looks like I will be throwing mine away and using Skype. Larry
I did use a U.S. credit card, but did it from my house here. Sorry to hear you are having such a hard time. Ron
Thanks everyone, a friend found one at that small shop. They wanted over P3,000 but negotiated down to P2,500. Ron
I hesitated a few years ago, but renewed for 5yrs @69.95....good until 2015...or until I step on it I guess.
I was able to renew last year using our Unionbank card, but not this year. I had a friend in the US try from Florida, using 3 different US based cards, but he was unsuccessful also. He had a 20 minute conversation with customer support that was almost word for word of my numerous conversations with them. Customer service is a joke. He has brought dozens of MJs to the Philippines and sold them to friends, that is where I got mine, but he too failed to renew my MJ. I give up, Skype wins! A little more costly, but also seems to have much clearer connection, and their Paypal checkout is a breeze. Larry
For what it is worth I have had very few issues with Skype. And I believe those were more issues with my ISP's bad connections at times. 90% of my calls to the U.S. I'd rate as excellent quality. And no problems what-so-ever buying more credit with a credit card or debit card. Best wishes, Charlie
Larry, do you use a regular phone with Skype (with some kind of adapter) or do you simply use microphone and headset with the computer keyboard for dialing? I have seen USB Skype phones for sale on the internet before but I am wondering if they are available here?
